How to Check You’re on the Real Site

Some other stores have started trading on our name. Nothing here needs any technical knowledge — these are the checks that actually tell you whether you are dealing with us. Our only website is pacificgrass.co.

The check that always works

Sign in and look for your own orders

A copycat can clone our photos, our prices and our whole layout. What they cannot do is show you your own order history. If you sign in and your past orders are there, you are on the real site. If the page looks right but your orders are missing, stop — and do not enter anything else.

Paste any link that claims to be us and we will tell you whether it points at our site. We never open it, and nothing you paste ever leaves your browser or reaches us.

Read the address bar right-to-left

Find the first single slash in the address. The name sitting immediately to its left is the only part that identifies who owns the site. Everything before that can be made to say anything at all.

  • pacificgrass.co/shop/ Us. The name before the slash is exactly ours. Genuine
  • help.pacificgrass.co Also us. Words added in front of our name, separated by dots, are ours to create. Genuine
  • pacificgrass.co.example-store.com Not us. Our name appears, but the name before the slash belongs to someone else. This is the most common trick. Not genuine
  • pacificgrass-shop.co Not us. Extra words joined with hyphens, or a different ending, make it a different site entirely. Not genuine

The padlock does not mean a site is genuine

The padlock only means the connection is encrypted. Anyone can get one for free, in minutes, for any site they own — copycats included. A padlock on a fake site is completely normal. Judge the name, never the padlock.

Where to get payment details

Payment details are not always the same from one order to the next, so a detail you have not seen before is not automatically wrong. That is exactly why the source matters more than the detail itself.

Use only the payment details that came with the order you placed. If a later message asks you to send payment somewhere else, treat it as fake until you have checked with us.

A new address, an unexpected follow-up, a different amount — if anything about a payment request feels off, contact us from this site before you send anything. We will also never ask you for your password.

Two habits worth keeping

  1. Bookmark us. Save this site once and open it from the bookmark from then on. It removes the guesswork permanently.
  2. Type the address yourself. If you arrive by clicking a link in an email, a text, a social post or a search advert, you have no idea where it leads until you check the name before the slash.
