What is Live Resin? Everything You Need to Know

If you’ve been exploring the world of cannabis concentrates, you’ve probably heard of live resin. It’s become one of the most sought-after concentrates on the market—and for good reason.

But what exactly is live resin? How is it different from shatter, budder, or other extracts? And is it worth the premium price?

In this comprehensive guide, we’ll answer all your questions about live resin and help you decide if it’s right for you.

What is Live Resin?

Live resin is a type of cannabis concentrate made from freshly harvested cannabis plants that are flash-frozen immediately after harvest, rather than dried and cured like traditional cannabis.

This unique process preserves the plant’s full spectrum of terpenes and cannabinoids, resulting in a concentrate that captures the true essence of the living plant—hence the name “live” resin.

Live Resin Characteristics

Feature Live Resin
Appearance Golden to amber, sauce-like or sugary texture
Consistency Ranges from sauce to sugar to badder
Terpene Content Very high (preserved through flash-freezing)
Flavour Exceptional—tastes like the fresh plant
THC Content 65-95%
Price Point Premium (higher than shatter/budder)

How is Live Resin Made?

The production of live resin involves a specialized process that sets it apart from other concentrates:

Step 1: Flash Freezing

Immediately after harvest—sometimes within minutes—the cannabis plants are flash-frozen to subcritical temperatures (below -40°C/-40°F). This freezing process happens so quickly that the plant’s trichomes and terpenes are preserved in their natural state.

Step 2: Extraction

The frozen plant material undergoes hydrocarbon extraction using solvents like butane or propane (BHO/PHO). The extraction happens at extremely low temperatures to maintain the integrity of the terpenes.

Step 3: Purging

The concentrate is then carefully purged of residual solvents while keeping temperatures low enough to preserve the volatile terpenes. This is done in specialized vacuum ovens.

Step 4: Final Product

The result is a terpene-rich concentrate that can take various forms—from runny “sauce” to granular “sugar” to creamy “badder”—depending on how it’s processed and stored.

Why It Matters: Traditional concentrates are made from dried and cured cannabis, which loses 55-60% of its terpenes during the drying process. Live resin preserves these terpenes, delivering unmatched flavour and a more complex high.

Why is Live Resin Special?

Live resin has gained a cult following among cannabis connoisseurs for several reasons:

1. Superior Terpene Profile

The flash-freezing process preserves terpenes that would otherwise be lost during drying and curing. This means:

  • More complex, authentic flavours
  • Aromas that match the living plant
  • Enhanced “entourage effect”

2. Full-Spectrum Experience

Because more of the plant’s original compounds are preserved, live resin delivers a more complete cannabis experience. You’re not just getting THC—you’re getting the full profile of cannabinoids and terpenes working together.

3. The Entourage Effect

The “entourage effect” refers to how cannabinoids and terpenes work together synergistically. Live resin maximizes this effect because it retains more of these compounds than other concentrates.

4. Exceptional Flavour

If you care about taste, live resin is unmatched. It’s the closest you can get to smoking fresh cannabis flower in concentrate form.

Live Resin vs Other Concentrates

How does live resin stack up against other popular concentrates?

Concentrate Made From Terpenes Best For
Live Resin Fresh frozen plants Highest Flavour seekers, connoisseurs
Shatter Dried/cured plants Moderate Potency, value
Budder/Badder Dried/cured plants Moderate-High Easy handling, smooth dabs
Rosin Heat + pressure (solventless) High Solvent-free preference
Hash Pressed trichomes Moderate Traditional experience
Distillate Refined extraction Low (stripped out) Max THC, edibles, vapes

Live Resin vs Shatter

Shatter is a glass-like concentrate known for its high potency and stability. Key differences:

  • Terpenes: Shatter has fewer terpenes (lost during drying/curing)
  • Flavour: Live resin has much more flavour
  • Texture: Shatter is brittle; live resin is saucier
  • Price: Shatter is more affordable
  • Potency: Similar THC levels

Choose shatter if: You prioritize potency and value over flavour.

Popular Shatter at Pacific Grass:

Live Resin vs Budder

Budder (or badder) has a creamy, butter-like consistency that’s easy to work with. Key differences:

  • Terpenes: Live resin preserves more terpenes
  • Texture: Both can be similar, but budder is whipped
  • Flavour: Live resin has more complex flavour
  • Price: Budder is typically more affordable

Choose budder if: You want easy-to-handle concentrate at a lower price point.

Popular Budder at Pacific Grass:

Live Resin vs Rosin

Rosin is a solventless concentrate made using heat and pressure. Key differences:

  • Extraction: Rosin uses no solvents; live resin uses BHO/PHO
  • Terpenes: Both can have excellent terpene profiles
  • Purity: Rosin is considered “cleaner” (no solvent residue)
  • Price: Premium rosin can be expensive

Choose rosin if: You prefer solventless products.

Popular Rosin at Pacific Grass:

How to Use Live Resin

There are several ways to enjoy live resin:

1. Dabbing (Most Popular)

Dabbing is the most common way to consume live resin. You’ll need:

  • A dab rig (water pipe with a nail/banger)
  • A torch or e-nail
  • A dab tool

How to dab:

  1. Heat your nail/banger with a torch until it’s hot
  2. Let it cool for 30-60 seconds (low-temp dabs preserve flavour)
  3. Use a dab tool to place a small amount of live resin on the nail
  4. Inhale slowly as it vaporizes
  5. Exhale and enjoy!

Pro Tip: For live resin, use lower temperatures (315-450°F) to preserve the terpenes. High-temp dabs will burn off the flavours you’re paying premium for!

2. Vape Cartridges

Live resin vape cartridges offer convenience without sacrificing flavour. Just attach to a 510-thread battery and inhale.

Live Resin Vapes at Pacific Grass:

3. Topping Flower

Add live resin to your bowl, joint, or bong for an enhanced experience. The extra terpenes and THC will significantly boost potency and flavour.

4. Edibles

Some edibles are made with live resin for superior flavour and effects:

Is Live Resin Worth the Price?

Live resin typically costs more than shatter or budder. Here’s how to decide if it’s worth it for you:

Live Resin IS Worth It If:

  • Flavour is important to you – It’s the best-tasting concentrate
  • You want the full cannabis experience – More than just THC
  • You appreciate the entourage effect – Terpenes enhance the high
  • You’re a cannabis connoisseur – You can taste the difference
  • You dab at low temperatures – Preserves the terpenes you’re paying for

Consider Other Options If:

  • You only care about potency – Shatter is equally potent and cheaper
  • You’re on a tight budget – Other concentrates offer more value
  • You dab at high temperatures – You’ll burn off the terpenes anyway
  • You mainly use edibles or topicals – Terpenes don’t matter as much

How to Store Live Resin

Proper storage is essential to preserve live resin’s terpenes:

  • Keep it cold – Refrigerate or freeze for long-term storage
  • Use airtight containers – Prevent terpene evaporation
  • Avoid light – UV degrades cannabinoids and terpenes
  • Don’t leave it out – Room temperature is okay for short periods
  • Use silicone or glass – Don’t store in plastic (terpenes can leach)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is live resin stronger than shatter?

They have similar THC levels (65-95%), so potency is comparable. However, live resin may feel more potent due to the entourage effect from preserved terpenes.

Does live resin get you higher?

Many users report a more “complete” and nuanced high from live resin due to the full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes. It’s not necessarily more intoxicating, but the experience can feel richer.

Is live resin safe?

When produced by reputable extractors, live resin is safe. The solvents used are fully purged during processing. Always buy from trusted sources that test their products.

How long does live resin last?

Properly stored (cold, dark, airtight), live resin can last 6-12 months without significant degradation. At room temperature, use it within a few weeks for best flavour.

Can you eat live resin?

Live resin needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to be orally active. You can add it to edibles, but most people prefer to dab or vape it to enjoy the flavour.

What is HTFSE?

HTFSE (High Terpene Full Spectrum Extract) is similar to live resin—both preserve the plant’s terpene profile. HTFSE specifically refers to the terpene-rich “sauce” portion of the extract.

As a person who uses cannabis as medication for a severe chronic illness I personally find that Live Resin works best for symptom control and is super handy to be able to quickly dab some with an e pen. If I buy 510 carts they are usually Live Resin as well. It seems to be the easiest, quickest and most effective way for me to get symptoms under control. Daily use of Live Resin has also reduced the overall inflammation level that they do tests for with my condition so my specialist thinks that daily Live Resin use is not only providing me with symptom control, it is treating the illness itself as well. With that being the case I will continue to order about 12 grams a month. It’s a bit more expensive than other extracts but in my experience it’s worth it!

How to Smoke Weed: A Complete Beginner's Guide

Whether you’re brand new to cannabis or returning after a long break, knowing how to smoke weed properly can make all the difference between a great experience and an uncomfortable one.

In this beginner-friendly guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know—from choosing your first strain to the different ways to consume cannabis, plus essential tips to ensure your first time goes smoothly.

Before You Start: What Beginners Need to Know

Before lighting up for the first time, here are some important basics:

Start Low, Go Slow

This is the #1 rule for cannabis beginners. Take one or two puffs, then wait 15-30 minutes before consuming more. Cannabis affects everyone differently, and you can always take more—but you can’t take less once you’ve consumed it.

Choose the Right Strain

For your first time, look for:

  • Lower THC strains (15-18% THC is plenty for beginners)
  • Balanced or CBD-rich strains (CBD helps reduce anxiety)
  • Indica or indica-dominant hybrids (more relaxing, less likely to cause anxiety)

Good beginner strains at Pacific Grass:

Set and Setting

Your environment matters! For your first time:

  • ✓ Choose a comfortable, safe space (home is ideal)
  • ✓ Be with people you trust (or solo if you prefer)
  • ✓ Have water and snacks nearby
  • ✓ Clear your schedule—don’t plan to drive or do anything important
  • ✓ Put on relaxing music or a show you enjoy

Different Ways to Smoke Weed

There are several methods to consume cannabis. Here’s an overview of each:

Method Difficulty Best For Onset Time
Joint/Pre-Roll Easy Beginners, convenience Minutes
Pipe Easy Quick sessions, portability Minutes
Bong Moderate Smoother hits, at-home use Minutes
Vaporizer Easy Discreet, healthier option Minutes
Edibles Easy (but tricky dosing) Long-lasting, no smoke 30-90 minutes

Method 1: How to Smoke a Joint (Pre-Roll)

Joints are the most classic and beginner-friendly way to smoke weed. If you don’t want to roll your own, pre-rolls come ready to smoke.

What You’ll Need

  • A joint or pre-roll
  • A lighter
  • An ashtray (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Light the tip – Hold the flame to the twisted end of the joint while rotating it slowly. Let it catch evenly (like lighting a cigar, not a cigarette).
  2. Take a small puff – Once lit, bring the filter end to your lips and inhale gently. Don’t inhale too hard or you’ll “canoe” the joint (burn unevenly).
  3. Inhale into your lungs – After drawing smoke into your mouth, inhale fresh air to push it into your lungs. Hold for 2-3 seconds.
  4. Exhale – Breathe out slowly. You don’t need to hold it long—THC absorbs almost instantly.
  5. Wait – Take a few puffs, then wait 10-15 minutes to gauge the effects before continuing.

Pro Tip: If you’re coughing a lot, take smaller puffs. Coughing doesn’t mean you’re “doing it wrong”—it’s normal, especially for beginners.

Pre-Rolls at Pacific Grass

Don’t want to roll your own? Grab a ready-to-smoke pre-roll:

Want to Roll Your Own?

If you prefer DIY, grab some rolling papers and cones:

Method 2: How to Smoke from a Pipe

Pipes are compact, portable, and perfect for quick solo sessions. They’re also easy to use for beginners.

What You’ll Need

  • A pipe
  • Ground cannabis
  • A grinder
  • A lighter

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Grind your weed – Use a grinder to break down your flower into small, even pieces. This ensures an even burn.
  2. Pack the bowl – Place the ground cannabis into the bowl (the rounded part of the pipe). Don’t pack it too tight—air needs to flow through.
  3. Find the carb – Most pipes have a small hole on the side called a “carb.” Cover it with your finger while lighting.
  4. Light and inhale – Hold the flame to the edge of the bowl (not the center) while inhaling slowly through the mouthpiece. This is called “cornering” and makes your bowl last longer.
  5. Release the carb – Once smoke fills the pipe, release your finger from the carb and inhale to clear the chamber.
  6. Exhale – Breathe out and wait before taking another hit.

Essential Pipe Accessories

Method 3: How to Use a Bong

Bongs filter smoke through water, creating smoother, cooler hits that are easier on your lungs. However, they can deliver large amounts of smoke quickly, so beginners should be cautious.

What You’ll Need

  • A bong
  • Water
  • Ground cannabis
  • A grinder
  • A lighter

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Fill with water – Pour water into the base until the downstem (the tube that goes into the water) is submerged by about 1-2 inches.
  2. Grind and pack – Grind your weed and pack it into the bowl piece. Again, don’t pack too tight.
  3. Position yourself – Hold the bong with one hand on the base and place your mouth inside the opening at the top (not over it).
  4. Light and inhale – Light the bowl while inhaling slowly. You’ll see smoke fill the chamber through the water.
  5. Clear the chamber – Once there’s enough smoke, remove the bowl piece (or release the carb if there is one) and inhale sharply to clear all the smoke.
  6. Exhale and relax – Bong hits can be intense! Wait several minutes before taking another.

Warning for Beginners: Bong hits can be deceivingly smooth but very potent. Take small hits and wait longer between them than you would with other methods.

Method 4: How to Use a Vaporizer

Vaporizers heat cannabis to release cannabinoids without combustion, producing vapor instead of smoke. This is considered healthier and more discreet than smoking.

Types of Vaporizers

  • Dry herb vaporizers – Use ground flower
  • Cartridge vapes – Use pre-filled THC oil cartridges (most convenient)
  • Disposable vapes – All-in-one, no charging or refilling needed

Step-by-Step (Disposable Vape)

  1. Remove from packaging – Most disposables are ready to use out of the box
  2. Inhale from the mouthpiece – Many disposables are draw-activated (no button needed)
  3. Take small puffs – Start with 1-2 second draws
  4. Wait and gauge – Effects come on quickly with vaping

What to Expect: Your First High

Not sure what being high feels like? Here’s what beginners commonly experience:

Positive Effects

  • Euphoria – A pleasant sense of happiness and well-being
  • Relaxation – Physical and mental tension melting away
  • Altered perception – Music sounds better, food tastes amazing, colours seem more vibrant
  • Giggles – Things might seem funnier than usual
  • Increased appetite – The famous “munchies”
  • Creativity – New ideas and perspectives may flow

Possible Side Effects

  • Dry mouth – Keep water handy!
  • Red eyes – Normal and harmless
  • Increased heart rate – Temporary, but can feel intense
  • Anxiety or paranoia – More common with high doses or sativa strains
  • Dizziness – Sit down and relax if this happens

Tips for First-Time Smokers

  1. Stay hydrated – Drink plenty of water before, during, and after
  2. Eat beforehand – Don’t smoke on an empty stomach
  3. Don’t mix with alcohol – Especially your first time
  4. Have snacks ready – You’ll thank yourself later
  5. Don’t fight the high – Relax and go with it
  6. Stay home – Don’t drive or go anywhere you might feel uncomfortable
  7. Trust your environment – Be somewhere safe with people you trust

What to Do If You Get Too High

It happens to everyone at some point. If you’ve consumed too much:

  • Stay calm – Remember: no one has ever died from cannabis. It will pass.
  • Drink water – Stay hydrated
  • Eat something – Especially something with sugar
  • Try black pepper – Chewing or sniffing black pepper can help reduce anxiety (it contains caryophyllene)
  • Take CBD – CBD can counteract THC’s effects
  • Find a quiet space – Lie down, close your eyes, put on calming music
  • Sleep it off – If you can, sleeping is the best solution

Remember: The uncomfortable feeling is temporary. Within 30-60 minutes, you’ll start feeling better. Within a few hours, you’ll be completely fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much should a beginner smoke?

Start with 1-2 small puffs, then wait 15-30 minutes. You can always take more, but you can’t take less once you’ve consumed it.

Do you have to hold in the smoke?

No! THC absorbs within milliseconds. Holding smoke in just irritates your lungs without increasing effects. 2-3 seconds is plenty.

Why am I not getting high?

It’s common not to feel effects your first time. This could be because:

  • You’re not inhaling properly (smoke needs to reach your lungs)
  • Your body hasn’t built cannabinoid receptors yet
  • The strain wasn’t potent enough

Try again another day with proper inhalation technique.

Is vaping healthier than smoking?

Generally yes—vaping doesn’t involve combustion, so you’re not inhaling burnt plant material. However, both have their own risks and benefits.

Should I try edibles first?

We don’t recommend edibles for complete beginners. They take longer to kick in (30-90 minutes), last much longer (4-8 hours), and are easier to accidentally overconsume. Smoking gives you more control over your dosage.

Indica vs Sativa: What's the Difference? The Complete Guide

If you’ve ever walked into a dispensary or browsed an online cannabis store, you’ve probably seen products labelled as indica, sativa, or hybrid. But what do these terms actually mean? And more importantly, how do you know which one is right for you?

In this comprehensive guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about indica vs sativa—from the science behind their differences to practical tips for choosing the perfect strain for your needs.

Indica vs Sativa: Quick Comparison

Feature Indica Sativa
Primary Effects Body high, relaxation, sedation Head high, energy, creativity
Best Time to Use Evening / Night Morning / Daytime
Common Uses Sleep, pain relief, anxiety Focus, creativity, socializing
Plant Appearance Short, bushy, wide leaves Tall, thin, narrow leaves
Flowering Time 8-9 weeks 10-12 weeks
Origin Hindu Kush region (Afghanistan, Pakistan) Equatorial regions (Thailand, Colombia, Mexico)
Remember It As “In-da-couch” 🛋️ “Rise and shine” ☀️

What is Indica?

Indica cannabis strains originated in the Hindu Kush mountain region of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. These plants evolved in harsh, cold climates, resulting in shorter, bushier plants with broad, dark green leaves.

Indica Effects

Indica strains are known for producing a “body high” that promotes:

  • Deep physical relaxation – Muscles loosen, tension melts away
  • Sedation – Perfect for winding down before bed
  • Couch-lock – That pleasant feeling of not wanting to move
  • Pain relief – Often used for chronic pain management
  • Increased appetite – The classic “munchies”
  • Reduced anxiety – Calming effects on the mind

Pro Tip: Remember indica as “in-da-couch” – these strains will have you sinking into your sofa for a relaxing night in.

Sativa strains are known for producing a “head high” that promotes:

  • Mental stimulation – Enhanced creativity and focus
  • Uplifting euphoria – Mood-boosting effects
  • Energy – Perfect for staying active and productive
  • Social enhancement – Great for conversations and gatherings

Types of Hybrids

Hybrid Type Description Effects
Indica-Dominant More indica than sativa (e.g., 70/30) Relaxing body high with some mental clarity
Sativa-Dominant More sativa than indica (e.g., 60/40) Energizing head high with mild body relaxation
Balanced (50/50) Equal parts indica and sativa Best of both worlds, versatile effects

The Science: It’s Really About Terpenes and Cannabinoids

Here’s something most people don’t know: the indica/sativa classification is actually more about plant biology than effects. Modern cannabis research suggests that the real drivers of how a strain makes you feel are:

Cannabinoids

  • THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) – The main psychoactive compound. Higher THC = stronger high
  • CBD (Cannabidiol) – Non-intoxicating, promotes relaxation and reduces anxiety
  • CBN, CBG, THCV – Minor cannabinoids that influence the overall experience

Terpenes

Terpenes are aromatic compounds that give cannabis its distinctive smells and flavours. They also significantly influence effects:

Terpene Aroma Effects Found In
Myrcene Earthy, musky Sedating, relaxing Most indicas
Limonene Citrus, lemon Uplifting, mood-boosting Lemon Haze, Super Lemon Haze
Pinene Pine, forest Alertness, focus Jack Frost, OG Kush
Caryophyllene Spicy, peppery Anti-inflammatory, calming GSC, Death Bubba
Linalool Floral, lavender Calming, anti-anxiety Pink Kush, Purple Kush

Key Takeaway: Instead of just asking “indica or sativa?”, pay attention to the strain’s THC/CBD ratio and dominant terpenes for a better prediction of effects.

How to Choose: Indica vs Sativa

Still not sure which to choose? Use this guide based on your goals:

Choose Indica If You Want To…

  • ✓ Relax after a long day
  • ✓ Fall asleep faster
  • ✓ Relieve chronic pain
  • ✓ Reduce muscle tension
  • ✓ Calm anxiety and stress
  • ✓ Increase appetite
  • ✓ Stay in and watch movies

Best indica products:

Choose Sativa If You Want To…

  • ✓ Boost creativity
  • ✓ Stay focused and productive
  • ✓ Feel energized
  • ✓ Enhance social situations
  • ✓ Combat depression
  • ✓ Go on outdoor adventures
  • ✓ Work on creative projects

Best sativa products:

Choose Hybrid If You Want…

  • ✓ Balanced effects
  • ✓ Relaxation without couch-lock
  • ✓ Energy without anxiety
  • ✓ Flexibility for any time of day
  • ✓ The best of both worlds

Indica vs Sativa for Medical Use

If you’re using cannabis for medical purposes, here’s a quick reference:

Condition Recommended Type Why
Insomnia Indica Sedating effects promote sleep
Chronic Pain Indica or Indica-Dominant Hybrid Strong body relaxation and pain relief
Depression Sativa or Balanced Hybrid Uplifting, mood-enhancing effects
Anxiety Indica or CBD-rich strain Calming without overstimulation
ADHD/Focus Sativa Mental stimulation and focus
Loss of Appetite Indica Stimulates appetite (“munchies”)
Fatigue Sativa Energizing, combats tiredness

Medical Disclaimer: This information is for educational purposes only. Always consult with a healthcare professional before using cannabis for medical purposes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is indica or sativa stronger?

Neither is inherently stronger—potency depends on the THC percentage, not whether it’s indica or sativa. A 28% THC sativa will be stronger than a 15% THC indica. Always check the THC content for potency.

Can sativa make you sleepy?

While sativas are generally energizing, any cannabis can make you sleepy if you consume enough or if you’re already tired. Some people also experience a “comedown” after the initial stimulating effects wear off.

Why does indica make you relaxed?

Indica strains typically contain higher levels of myrcene, a terpene known for its sedating effects. They may also have different cannabinoid profiles that promote physical relaxation.

Do indica and sativa really feel different?

Yes, most users report noticeable differences. However, the indica/sativa distinction is a guideline, not a guarantee. Individual body chemistry, tolerance, and the specific strain’s terpene profile all influence your experience.

What if sativa gives me anxiety?

Some people are more sensitive to sativa’s stimulating effects. If you experience anxiety with sativas, try:

  • Lower THC strains
  • Strains with higher CBD content
  • Indica or indica-dominant hybrids
  • Starting with a smaller dose

Is hybrid good for beginners?

Balanced hybrids can be great for beginners because they offer moderate effects without being too sedating or too stimulating. Start with a low-THC hybrid and work your way up.

Death Bubba Strain Review: Effects, THC Level & Where to Buy in Canada

Death Bubba is one of Canada’s most legendary indica-dominant strains, renowned for its powerful sedative effects and ability to induce a deep, peaceful sleep. Created in Vancouver, BC, this potent hybrid has become a staple among cannabis enthusiasts seeking serious relaxation and pain relief.

In this comprehensive guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Death Bubba—from its origins and genetics to its effects, medical benefits, and flavour profile.

Death Bubba Strain Overview

Strain Name Death Bubba
Type Indica-Dominant Hybrid (70% Indica / 30% Sativa)
THC Content 25-27%
CBD Content <1%
Genetics Bubba Kush × Death Star
Breeder Matteo Suleyman (Sea to Sky Genetics)
Origin Vancouver, British Columbia (2012)
Flavours Lemon, Pine, Spicy, Sweet, Woody
Effects Euphoric, Relaxing, Sleepy, Happy, Hungry
Best For Evening use, Insomnia, Chronic Pain, Stress Relief

Death Bubba Genetics and Origin

Death Bubba was created in 2012 by Matteo Suleyman of Vancouver BC’s Sea to Sky Genetics. This powerful strain is a cross between two legendary parents:

  • Bubba Kush – A classic indica known for its heavy body relaxation, sweet coffee-like flavour, and stress-relieving properties
  • Death Star – A potent hybrid combining Sensi Star and Sour Diesel, contributing euphoric effects and diesel undertones

The result is a beautifully balanced indica-dominant hybrid that delivers the best qualities of both parent strains—the sedating body high of Bubba Kush combined with the cerebral euphoria of Death Star.

Why Is It Called “Death Bubba”?

The name “Death Bubba” refers to the strain’s ability to induce such a deep sleep that users appear almost lifeless—like they’re in a “death-like” slumber. Don’t worry though; the only thing Death Bubba kills is your stress, pain, and insomnia!

Death Bubba Appearance

Death Bubba buds are visually stunning and easily recognizable:

  • Bud Structure: Medium-sized, dense nugs with a compact indica structure
  • Colour: Dark forest green with rich purple undertones
  • Pistils: Fiery orange hairs scattered throughout
  • Trichomes: Thick layer of frosty, sandy white crystal trichomes
  • Leaves: Dark olive green, almost furry appearance

The abundance of trichomes is a clear indicator of Death Bubba’s high potency—a visual promise of the powerful effects to come.

Death Bubba Effects: What to Expect

Death Bubba delivers a multi-phase high that evolves over time, making it a unique and memorable experience:

Phase 1: Cerebral Rush (0-15 minutes)

Almost immediately after smoking, you’ll feel a wave of rushing, focused energy wash over you. This initial phase brings:

  • Uplifting euphoria
  • Mental clarity and motivation
  • Potential psychoactive experiences
  • Heightened mood and happiness

Phase 2: Deep Relaxation (15-45 minutes)

As the high continues, the indica effects take over:

  • Utter physical relaxation
  • Deep introspection and spaciness
  • Couch-lock sensation
  • Muscle tension melting away
  • Increased appetite (the munchies)

Phase 3: Sleep Induction (45+ minutes)

Upon the comedown, Death Bubba pulls you into a deep, peaceful, undisturbed sleep that lasts for hours—giving you the appearance of being completely unwakeable. This is where the strain gets its name!

Pro Tip: Due to its powerful sedative effects, Death Bubba is best enjoyed in the evening, before bed, or after work. If you’re using it during the day, clear your schedule first!

Death Bubba Flavour and Aroma Profile

Death Bubba offers a complex and satisfying sensory experience:

Aroma

  • Primary: Musky, earthy pine
  • Secondary: Pungent skunk with hints of grass
  • Undertones: Sweet and slightly diesel

Flavour

  • Inhale: Spicy lemon and pine
  • Exhale: Pungent earth with sweet, woody notes
  • Aftertaste: Clean, earthy, and slightly sweet

Terpene Profile

Death Bubba’s distinctive flavour comes from its rich terpene content:

  • Myrcene – Earthy, musky notes; contributes to sedative effects
  • Caryophyllene – Spicy, peppery flavour; anti-inflammatory properties
  • Limonene – Citrus lemon notes; mood-enhancing effects
  • Pinene – Pine forest aroma; may help with alertness

We Now Support Passkeys — Here's Why You Should Add One

Good news: you can now sign in to Pacific Grass with just your fingerprint or face scan. No password needed.

We recommend everyone set up a passkey today.

What’s a Passkey?

It’s a simpler, safer way to sign in. Instead of typing a password, you use Face ID, Touch ID, or Windows Hello — the same way you unlock your phone.

We Never See Your Biometrics

Here’s the important part: your fingerprint or face scan never leaves your device.

When you sign in, your device verifies it’s you, then sends us a secure code that says “yes, this is them.” That’s all we receive. Your biometric data stays locked on your phone or computer — we never see it.

Why Passkeys Are Better

  • Can’t be stolen in data breaches
  • Can’t be guessed like passwords
  • Can’t be phished by fake websites
  • Faster — just a quick scan

Set It Up in 30 Seconds

  1. Go to Account > Account & Security
  2. Scroll to Passkeys
  3. Tap Add Passkey
  4. Follow your device’s prompts

That’s it. Your account just got a whole lot safer.

Love the new site. But I do have a question to bring up. On the 510 Vape cartridges would it be too much to add the strain to the packaging. I have noticed that the new website is not displaying what the strings are on the website and neither does the packaging. It would be fantastic as a customer to quickly reference what strain I'm grabbing rather than going on the website. Just a thought from a happy Stoner thank you
